Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

If the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library does not have an item you are looking for, you can ask the staff to borrow it from another library.

  • Requests must be made in person at the circulation desk.
  • There is no limit as to the number of items that can be borrowed at one time.
  • There is no fee to borrow an item.  Libary staff will call a patron when an interlibrary loan item is received and will make one additional call if the item has not been picked up.  If an item is not picked up by its due date, it will be returned to the lending library and the patron will be charged $5.00 for the loan.
  • The due date for any item is set by the lending library and will be noted on the circulation slip.  Renewal of an item is at the discretion of the lending library.
  • This service is provided through the cooperation of public, private, academic and school libraries Iowa with funding provided by the State Library of Iowa.  The State Library also makes it possible to borrow items not available in Iowa from across the country.
